Air Pollution during "The Burning Season"
Here in Chiang Mai, Thailand, the burning season typically occurs between mid-January and mid-April, with March being the peak month. During this time, the air quality can be very poor, with levels of particulate matter (PM2.5) exceeding 100 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m³). The World Health Organization (WHO) considers anything above 25 µg/m³ to be unhealthy.
